Pro Bono Virginia

Pro Bono Virginia (PBV) is a groundbreaking statewide effort to build permanent infrastructure for pro bono legal service across the Commonwealth. PBV turns interested attorneys into capable volunteers — providing the training, support, and community they need to take on their first case and stay engaged over time.

As one of the partner organizations helping administer Pro Bono Virginia, Justice Allies connects attorneys with the resources, training, and live case opportunities available through the statewide Pro Bono Portal, so volunteers can find the right fit for their skills, experience, and availability.

Pro Bono Virginia is a great fit for attorneys at any stage of their pro bono journey — whether you’re taking your first case, looking for structured training, or ready to dive into a live matter.

Through PBV, volunteers can:

  • Take a short quiz to find service opportunities matched to their skills and interests
  • Join the Pro Bono Academy, a training program pairing volunteers with veteran pro bono attorneys in high-demand practice areas
  • Browse live cases from Qualified Legal Services Providers across Virginia through the statewide Pro Bono Portal
  • Access free CLE and training resources through Virginia CLE
